Kids In Motion dancers will be performing in our annual Holiday Show at the Nicholas HornTheater on Saturday, December 17, 2011!

All dance classes held on Saturday, Dec. 17, will be CANCELED. Please note, KIM will have its last day of classes on Friday, Dec. 16.

To Participate in this fun event, there is a $45.00 Recital/Costume Fee per dancer, per class, this must be received no later than Saturday, Oct. 1st.  This Fee covers the cost of the theater rental, tech & stage crew, stage props, printing for programs & tickets, purchasing, recording & editing music, and your dancer’s performance shirt or leotard with accessories.  This Holiday Show is NOT our annual recital, it’s an opportunity for your dancer to perform on stage, learn the in’s and out’s of performance life, experience applause, and to reap the rewards of hard work and dedication.

 How do I get to Nicholas J. Horn Theater?  (CSN Performing Arts Theater)

The theater is located at 3200 E. Cheyenne Ave, between Pecos and Civic Center Dr., on the campus of the College of Southern Nevada.  Access to the theater is through the northwest entrance.

 

Tickets: Each dancer will receive 2 complimentary tickets when December’s tuition is paid.  Additional tickets will be available for $5 per ticket.  To have your name included on the extra ticket list please call 645-5250.  Extra tickets will be sold on a first come first serve basis.  Seating is general admission.

 

TUITION: Tuition is due the first week of each month.  Tuition remains the same regardless of absences or the length of the month (3-week/5-week).  No statement will be sent unless your account is overdue.  There is a 15% late fee if tuition is past due and a $20 return check fee.  Tuition may be hand delivered or mailed directly to Kids in Motion.  If you decide to withdraw your child, you must notify us in writing tow weeks prior to the last class your dancer attends or you will be charged for the classes your dancer is registered for.  We will continue billing every month and guarantee to reserve your dancers place in the class until we are notified in writing by you.

There is a RECITAL/Costume Fee of $70 per dancer/ per class ages 3-6 yrs and $80 per dancer/per class ages 7 & up.  This fee must be paid on or before Saturday, Nov. 19, 2011, so costumes can be ordered, which will insure prompt arrival.  There will be NO REFUNDS.  Monthly payments may be arranged if you have two or more dancers/classes.  To arrange monthly payments please call 645-5250.  These costumes are NOT custom made and may require alterations.  It is our responsibility to make any necessary alterations.  The Recital/Costume fee pays for your dancer’s costume and helps pay for the Professional Tech Crew (lights/sound), the theater rental for 2 days, backdrops, props, printing for programs and tickets, ASCAP, purchasing, recording and editing music, 3 complimentary tickets ($30 value) and Miss Patricia’s time, energy and hours spent planning and preparing for a successful recital.  Extra tickets will be available for sale prior to the Recital date.  **Costume Prices will vary for the Odyssey Competition Teams.

Kids In Motion will be CLOSED Wednesday, Nov. 23-26 (Thanksgiving Break) & Sunday, December 18, 2011 through Sunday, January 1, 2012 (Holiday Break).

 

Our Spring Session starts on Monday, January 2, 2012.  To hold your dancer’s spot for the Spring Session, you must pay January’s Tuition by Saturday, Dec. 17, 2011.

I wanted to include the following information in this newsletter to ensure every parent and dancer receives the following requests.  Dancers not coming dressed in proper clothing will be asked to sit out for the class.  Please know we want dancers to have the best conditions to dance in, clothing being one of them.  If you have any question regarding the following please let me know.

PROPER DANCE ATTIRE

The following items will allow and help you to dance properly!  Absolutely no jeans are allowed in dance class.

 

TAP/BALLET COMBO: DANCERS MUST WEAR LEOTARD AND TIGHTS OF ANY COLOR, TUTUS ARE OPTIONAL.  HAIR IS TO BE PULLED BACK IN A PONYTAIL OR BUN.  BLACK TAP SHOES AND PINK BALLET SHOES.

BALLET CLASS: DANCERS MUST WEAR A LEOTARD AND TIGHTS OF ANY COLOR AND HAIR MUST BE IN A BUN.  PINK BALLET SHOES.

CONTEMPORARY/MODERN: DANCERS MUST WEAR A LEOTARD OR FORM FITTING DANCE TOP (NO LOOSE OR BAGGY T-SHIRTS), TIGHTS WITH NO FEET AND DANCE SHORTS OR FORM FITTING JAZZ PANTS.  DANCERS MUST BE BAREFOOT AND HAIR BACK IN A PONYTAIL.

TUMBLING: STUDENTS MUST WEAR A LEOTARD WITH OPEN FOOTED TIGHTS OR JAZZ SHORTS.  STUDENTS MUST BE BAREFOOT AND HAIR BACK IN A PONYTAIL.

TAP CLASSES: DANCERS MUST WEAR JAZZ PANTS AND FORM FITTING SHIRTS TO ALLOW PROPER MOVEMENT IN CLASS, TAP SHOES AND HAIR BACK IN PONY.

 

MOMMY & ME CLASSES: DANCERS MUST WEAR LEOTARDS AND TIGHTS; TUTUS ARE NOT REQUIRED BUT ARE ALLOWED.  PINK BALLET SHOES AND HAIR BACK IN A PONYTAIL OR BUN.

 

BALLET TECHNIQUE: DANCERS MUST WEAR A LEOTARD AND TIGHTS, WITH EITHER DANCE SHORTS OR A TUTU.  PLEASE MAKE SURE TUTUS ARE NOT TOO BIG, WE NEED TO SEE YOUR DANCERS BODY!  PINK BALLET SHOES AND HAIR IN A BUN IS A MUST.

 

JAZZ TECHNIQUE & JAZZ/HIPHOP CLASSES: DANCERS MUST WEAR A LEOTARD OR A FORM FITTING DANCE TOP (NO LOOSE OR BAGGY T-SHIRTS), TIGHTS AND JAZZ PANTS OR DANCE SHORTS.  DANCERS MUST ALSO WEAR BLACK JAZZ SHOES AND HAIR BACK IN A PONYTAIL.
