Melissa Sprenz began dancing at 6 yrs. old. Her extensive training in ballet, tap and jazz prepared her for a lifetime of fun in the theater world. She studied at a school of dance in Florida and was trained by a Nationally known ballerina.
Although she always loved to sing in the shower, she didn't begin to sing publicly until she was forced to try out for a high school play, and was then surprised to get the lead. She then began to take private voice lessons and was invited to join her high school's advanced choir and show choir. Melissa received many awards for her singing on a state level and was asked to sing at many events for her city.
Melissa began her love for acting at an early age. At age 8 she began writing scripts and putting on plays for her family. This continued until she was 13 years old and began to release her creative juices in acting class. Although Melissa enjoyed the title of "class clown" for many years at school, she really found that she loved to act in plays. She has enjoyed performing in plays ever since. She was cast as Audrey, in Little Shop of Horrors, Snow White, in Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs, Julie, in Carousel, Lady Larkin, in Once Upon a Mattress and has enjoyed being a part of many other plays. To name a few: Cats, Seussical the Musical, Into the Woods, Sound of Music, My Fair Lady, Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat, and Cinderella.
Melissa earned degrees in Elementary Education and Music Education at Brigham Young University. We are excited to have Miss Melissa with us at Kids In Motion Dance Studio. With her love of music, theater, dance, and children, she makes a great role model.
